TULUM MEXICO

In the early morning I hear very faint light a big truck pull up on the beach from us. I am in the shop window and see men with guns out of the back. Either they are bandits, the Zapatistas invading Quintana Roo and the Mexican Army. Fortunately for us, it’s the latter.

We leave the store and leaving them for a chat. The sergeant was speaking much Spanish, but it is clear that the three Indian soldiers and speaks with an accent. All are tall, strong, and the imposition of battle in full swing, much as one can expect from soldiers patrol on the beach.
